Woman with bright pink hair painting on a colorful canvas.

Even though Shelby has spent over a decade in Southern California it’s evident that you can take the girl out of the east coast, but not the east coast out of the girl.
High energy, vibrant colors and a flair for the international remain a passion and make their way into each of her paintings.

Artist Statement

It’s any day and it’s every day.

It’s the light that blinds, warms, and illuminates. It’s the darkness that reveals, chills, and creates. The every day is something to which none of us are strangers and yet it is in the mundane everyday hours that we encounter the beautiful fleeting present.

I invite you to join me there.

What I create is unforced and largely unplanned but is carried by a willingness to open myself up to the flow of the world before me and to deeply drop into the present moment and allow. Painting is my art, and it is also my meditation, my healing. It is my love song to the mundane and the magical, to the everyday things we overlook, to the moments that take our breath away.

I surrender myself to color, form and imagination allowing all to flow through me.
